Broken Wing
02:46
|

Forget what you know
Forget what you have
Forget the status quo
Forget what you learned
Forget what they taught you in school
Forget the lessons you learned
I propose that you learn a new one.
Forget the car that you drive
Forget the place that you live
Forget that you're alive
Forget the world spins on its axis
For us down here it's just death and taxes
Round and around spinning around
As we spin around the sun
Merry-go-rounds are so much fun
Feel the sunrise it's about to break
Look at the sky it is everything
So hard to fly with a broken wing
Don't worry about being confused It happens to me it happens to you
All I know is what I know but don't know exactly what that is so
Fill in the blanks connect the dots
Oh my god it happened again
Fell into the black hole of the city I live in
Head to the sticks with my friends
Follow a road don't know where it ends (thanks Neil Young)
Could be the one that takes us
Where we want, wanna be
If we don't go, we'll never see
Feel the sunrise it's about to break
Stare in the sky it is everything
Day into night, night into day
Dark chased the light, it got away
Feel the sunrise it is everything
So hard to fly with a broken wing
We got a broken wing

April

I like making noise
I don't share my toys
In my bedroom
There is no one else
Don't wanna talk to them
Don't wanna make new friends
Hear them knocking
I ain't letting them in
They all say
Come out and play
Think I'll stay inside today
They all shout
Are you coming out?
I got nothing to talk about
I don't like you much
So I don't keep in touch
Call me a creep, I've been described as such
I don't understand
Head stuck in the sand
It's alright, I guess I'm dealt that hand
They all say
Come out and play
Think I'll stay inside today
They all shout
Are you coming out?
I got nothing to talk about
I was there drowning she pulled me out
Filled me with love, drained me of doubt
Opened my eyes to what it's about
Now's she's gone, gone, gone
oh no
Here it comes again...
I was there drowning she pulled me out
Filled me with love, drained me of doubt
Opened my eyes to what it's about
Now's she's gone, gone, gone

Letter To Grace
04:40
|
|||
One half of me is trying
The other has let go
You bring the better part out, I just
Wanted you to know
You don't ask for much
Just a little love
But you don't like being touched
Help each other out now let's
Bring it back somehow
When you're feeling lost
Just know you will be found
And weather the storm
With both feet on the ground
When you're falling down
You get up again
You showed me how
Thank you my friend
I know it's been some time now
And I wonder where you are
I don't dwell on it too much though
You don't feel very far
We convince ourselves to live the same routine
And not ask why
When a better life is hiding there
Just out of sight
When you're falling down
You get up again
You showed me how
Thank you my friend
And when you're at a loss
Just know you will be found
And weather the storm...

Pray For Me
03:26
|
|||
I know what I want
I see it all so clear
I can almost reach it
Oh it is so near
The devil came and he whispered in my ear
Everything you ever wanted, boy it is right here
Pray for me or wait for my
Soul to go
Maybe we could take another
Stone to throw
Some of them are lost
Some of them are found
Most of them are falling and they'll never hit the ground I wanna see the light and I wanna hear the sound
Love it fills me up, the devil bring me down
Pray for me or wait for my
Soul to go
Maybe we could take another
Stone to throw
Jump in the water
Drown my sorrows
I wanna live like there's no tomorrow
Everything you want isn't everything you need
No matter what you do
There's another fire to feed
Pray for me or wait for my
Soul to go
Maybe we could take another
Stone to throw
Everything you want, everything you need
No matter what you do, there's a mouth to feed Everything you want, everything you need
No matter what you do, there's a mouth to feed

Neptune
05:28
|
|||
Say goodbye to this dry land
Head for the horizon
Close my eyes, count to ten
Adrift in the ocean
Hello wind, fill my sail
Trust in you to guide me well
Take a breath, exhale
Everybody asks me where I'm going
Easily said but it's not for their knowing
I've saved enough honey for my hive
Made enough mistakes to stay alive
Yes I'm still alive...Or is it that I'm dreaming?
Yeah sanity is so last season
And just like that, the memory is gone
Matter of fact – it wasn't there, it wasn't there no it
Wasn't there at all
Hey baby come in, let the show begin
Over cities we're floating
Pinch me before we reach the end
I talk to the stars but they don't answer
Just keep on staring
Ask them the secrets of the universe
But they're not sharing
The romance of the moon and sun
They can't stop what they've begun
They're not the only ones
Like a face in the crowd, like a drop in the sea, know there's
There's someone out there waiting special for me, so I
Drag along across horizons I can't see, till there's
There's nothing left to stand between her and me
And just like that, I'm over the falls
Once upon a time, I had control
No more, now I'm a ragdoll
And maybe downstream, the two of us will meet
Or maybe we'll let it be
And I'll be swept into the sea

Ringing In Your Ear
03:02
|
|||
Funny how you see what you wanna see
Look at you now, became what they wanted you to be
Open me up to see what I'm made of
Open me up, nothing to be afraid of
It costs too much to love you my dear
Pick up the anchor get me out of here
We float downstream
Born in the mountains
And we die in the sea
Hear you calling but I can't reach the phone
I'm not home right now leave a message after the tone I
Took all my love and threw it in the water
And I burned all my money, I threw it in the fire
Because it costs too much to love you my dear
Pick up the anchor get me out of here
In a cloud of smoke I'll disappear
You'll remember me by the
Ringing in your ear
I'm singing in your ear
Ringing in your ear

Square One
04:20
|
|||
Let's take our stuff to the basement
Then we'll pick up our hammers and break it
Although my mind I can change it
I'm done with that,
Might be best to just erase it
Throw it all away, go back to square one
Throw it all away.
And when you change your mind
May you change it many times
And when
You finally decide
Oh I sure hope that you're right
I won't recognize your faces
And I won't recall any of these places
I carve my name in the pavement
If you want my head, you can take it
Throw it all away, go back to square one
Throw it all away, go back to square one
And when the dogs come along
We'll heed and obey with our leashes on
And when
Yhey're finally done
Throw it all away,
Go back to square one.

Start Over?
03:35
|
|||
Start again
It's easier at the beginning
Try again
A bit harder when you've reached the end
Looking back
A trail that leads straight to this moment
Looking upward
The universe as we know it
Give out, Give in
Shredding doubt, Shedding skin
It could've been different
Things could've changed
Instead they're the same
Wildfire
You'll burn till there is no more
Roots to ashes
Where giants had stood before
Breathe out, Breathe in
Do it over again
Sometimes you get lucky
Sometimes you win
When you don't, you try again
Without, Within
The farther the fall, the faster the spin
It could've been different
The wind could've shifted
Instead it's the same.

A Place For You
04:38
|
|||
Driving around
Picking up the pieces we have found
My hometown
Oh I wanna burn it to the ground
You could say
The calm before the storm is over now
Because I can't tell
Exactly what is up and what is down
Stay with us, stay with us
You don't have to be leaving so soon
There's a place for you here
Stay with us, steady with us
Patience, you'll have your time
Just like I will have mine, to die
This town
They say will chew you up and spit you out
Calm down
I've made many friends in the lost and found
They can
Help to ease the blow when you hit the ground
Face down
Who's gonna cheer you up when I'm not around?
Stay with us, stay with us
You don't have to be leaving so soon
There's a place for you here
Stay with us, steady with us
Patience, you'll have your time
Just like I will have mine, to die.
All I wanted was to plant a seed and watch
It grow
Come to find out I can never reap what I
Have sown
Can't eat can't sleep can't dream
Can't stop thinking about it
Can't breathe can't see can't be
Guess I'm nothing without it
Can't look you in the eye
When we're talking about it
I am lost without it
Can't stop thinking about it
Stay with us, stay with us
You don't have to be leaving so soon
There's a place for you here
Stay with us, steady with us
Patience, you'll have your time
Just like I will have mine, to die.
